Your singing coach Josée Truchon

A native of Matane in the Gaspesia, Josée Truchon recorded her first album, Si pour m'aimer, in 1999. The album received rave reviews, with two singles reaching number one on the radio charts and earning her a nomination at ADISQ in 1999 in the Country Album of the Year category. She went on tour that same year, and appeared on various TV variety shows.

In 2000, Josée signed a recording deal with Les Disques Star. She wrote a second self-titled album, which was also nominated for an ADISQ award in 2003.

In addition to several classical and popular trainings, Josée has followed the Ultimate Voice Coach method courses in New York. For about ten years, she operated her own singing school and offered private and group lessons in primary schools and at home.

In 2007, Josée moved with her family,  to Nashville, Tennessee. She performs at the famous The Stage on Broadway, and made friends with many artists and people in the industry. It was also during these years that she recorded her first English-language album, There Goes My Heart, whose songs were written by renowned Nashville songwriters including Noah Gordon, Jim Guthrie, Philip Douglas and Tebey Otto (whose songs were recorded by Randy Travis, John Michael Montgomery, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich), as well as Jason Blaine (CCMA winner for They Don't Make 'Em Like That Anymore).

In addition, many well-known musicians took part in the recording of this album, including Jeff King on guitar (Reba McEntire), Jim "Moose" Brown on B-3 (composer of It's 5 O'clock somewhere), Tommy Harden on drums (Reba McEntire) and Craig Young on bass (Steve Perry Band).

Back in Quebec, Josée still performs regularly in the greater Montreal area.  We are delighted that she has agreed to share her singing skills and passion for singing and music with the Espace Joie de vivre community.

Please note: In the event of an outbreak of Covid 19, some workshops may be postponed to a later date, as the risk of contamination is higher with singing. We will do our utmost to find safe and satisfactory solutions for participants.
