Discover what makes your heart sing at Espace Joie de Vivre!
Joie de Vivre
Espace Joie de Vivre is a multi-functional event space whose primary mission is to offer opportunities for creative expression in a safe, supportive, non-judgemental environment. We offer a space that welcomes people just as they are, whatever their experiences are with movement, art, and life.
We are "officially" located at 1485 Atateken in Montreal, although the entrance to the studio is through the pink door in the back alley whose entrance is located on de Maisonneuve Boulevard.
Please note that the street address is also that of our upstairs neighbor, Proxim Pharmacy.
The studio is located halfway between the Berri-UQAM and Beaudry metros, and on the border of the Village, the Plateau Mont-Royal and downtown Montreal.
Generally speaking, there is parking available on nearby streets, especially if you are willing to pay.

Meet the co-creatrixes
Espace Joie de Vivre is the brainchild of two passionate co-creatrixes, Laurie-Lynn Macdonald and Isabelle Truchon.
Music is the soundtrack to my life and there is no way I can sit still when there is a good beat to rock out to. I love being around people, breaking bread, sharing stories, laughter and a glass of wine. I have been dancing since I was a child using movement as my creative fuel for self-expression.
As a lover of art, music, culture and conversation, I’ve been craving a place to go to where I could enjoy dabbling in all things artsy and cool while not taking myself too seriously in the process. My own needs and desires are what sparked and shaped the idea for Espace Joie de Vivre. I understand first-hand the undeniable gift of sharing our passions, talents and quality time with others. I’m eager to welcome you into our space to bust a move, make art while you make friends, party the night away and everything in between.
I love people passionately. I love their stories, their ideas, their energy.
After ending my career as a corporate director in June 2020, I have redirected my professional activities towards teaching and ministry in order to accomplish my life mission. Thus, I officiate weddings during the summer season, teach business communications in a computer school, and I am currently completing a training as an end-of-life counselor ("Thanadoula").
On a more personal note, I am the proud mother of two beautiful young adult men. After some major upheaval, I rebuilt my life a few years ago based on what truly makes my heart sing. I wake up every morning filled with gratitude for the people and opportunities put on my path.
What exactly makes my heart sing? The list is long! I love to dance, cook, entertain friends and attend comedy and burlesque shows. I am a die-hard fan of Oka, a world music band from Australia, and an enthusiastic tarot reader. I also own way too many dishes and glassware for someone who lives alone ;)
Espace Joie de vivre is for me the realization of a lifelong dream: the creation of a colorful and warm micro-universe where everyone is invited to uncover and share their light.
